From the Manager's Desk...

We hope the children enjoyed their treats on the last day of school!  Have a fun and safe summer! The Resident Appreciation BBQ was a huge success last month.  We enjoyed good weather, food, and company. I'd like to especially thank all of our wonderful sponsors for the great door prizes: Pizza Ranch, Little Caesars Pizza, Midas Touch, Caribbean Sun, Salon Del 5, Splash & Dash Car Wash, and Carpet Cleaning Concepts. We truly appreciate all of our residents and thank you for choosing to live in our community.  Should there ever be anything you need, please don't hesitate to let us know!  We will do our best to assist you.

Lock Safety Checks

To protect yourself, your family and your property, take a moment to check all of the window and door locks in your home to ensure they are in working order.  If a lock seems broken or loose, please report it to our office immediately so that we can take care of it for you!

Please refrain from leaving trash outside of your front door.  Take it directly to the dumpster.  Not only is it unsightly, but it attracts bugs and can leave stains on the flooring.  Thank you for helping keep our community clean!

Patriotic Cocktail
Ingredients
1 ounce watermelon schnapps
1 big splash cranberry juice
1 very thin slice jalapeno or serrano pepper
1 slice lemon
1 slice lime
1 1/2 ounces tequila
1/4 ounce blue curacao
1/2 ounce simple syrup
Watermelon wedge, for garnish (optional)

Directions
Mix the schnapps and cranberry juice in a shaker; pour into an ice-filled glass.

Muddle the jalapeno pepper, lemon and lime slices, tequila, blue curacao and simple syrup (to make a batch, dissolve sugar in equal parts hot water and chill) in the shaker. Slowly strain into the glass over the red layer. Garnish with watermelon, if desired.
Fireworks Safety Tips
As the July 4th holiday approaches, we know fireworks are on the mind!  Please note that the discharge of fireworks is not allowed in our community.  If you choose to celebrate elsewhere, please make a note of the following safety tips to enjoy the holiday responsibly.

  • Use fireworks outdoors only.

  • Obey local laws. If fireworks are not legal where you live, do not use them.

  • Always have water handy. (A hose or bucket).

  • Only use fireworks as intended. Don't try to alter them or combine them.

  • Never relight a "dud" firework. Wait 20 minutes and then soak it in a bucket of water.

  • Use common sense. Spectators should keep a safe distance from the shooter and the shooter should wear safety glasses.

  • Alcohol and fireworks do not mix. Have a "designated shooter."

  • Only persons over the age of 12 should be allowed to handle sparklers of any type.

  • Do not ever use homemade fireworks of illegal explosives: They can kill you! Report illegal explosives to the fire or police department in your community.
