Hello Ridgeport Residents!!
School is out!! Summertime is here!! This month instead of a drawing, we will have a bucket full of summertime items for the kids! Bring your children by to pick out an item from the bucket. Also, this month we will have freezer pop Fridays! Every Friday in June you may stop by for a freezer pop!!
The Riverfest is celebrating 40 years this summer! They changed the dates to June 3rd- 11th. They also brought back an old favorite! The Medallion Hunt! It’s been 10 years since they’ve hid the medallion somewhere in Wichita! Happy Hunting!!
Enjoy your summer!!
Sincerely,
Cassie Schafer

Fireworks Safety Tips
As the July 4th holiday approaches, we know fireworks are on the mind! Please note that the discharge of fireworks is not allowed in our community. If you choose to celebrate elsewhere, please make a note of the following safety tips to enjoy the holiday responsibly.
- Use fireworks outdoors only.
- Obey local laws. If fireworks are not legal where you live, do not use them.
- Always have water handy. (A hose or bucket).
- Only use fireworks as intended. Don't try to alter them or combine them.
- Never relight a "dud" firework. Wait 20 minutes and then soak it in a bucket of water.
- Use common sense. Spectators should keep a safe distance from the shooter and the shooter should wear safety glasses.
- Alcohol and fireworks do not mix. Have a "designated shooter."
- Only persons over the age of 12 should be allowed to handle sparklers of any type.
- Do not ever use homemade fireworks of illegal explosives: They can kill you! Report illegal explosives to the fire or police department in your community.
